Fantastic Beasts Meets Harry Potter Wedding Inspiration

Today is a pretty magical day for those of us who are Harry Potter fans — Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them comes out in theaters tonight (opening day Friday)!! There’s a reason this franchise from J.K. Rowling resonates with so many of us — that sense of adventure + mystery is so thrilling + enchanting… So today we’re sharing some wedding inspiration based on the new movie + other fan favorite details from the book series, thanks to Jamie Jo Designs!

Here’s what she had to say about the shoot Step into the magical world of Harry Potter and imagine yourself witnessing a marriage between a Slytherin and a Gryffindor (gasp!). Having grown up reading every book and watching every film as a generation, we can’t help but have a long term connection with this enchanted series. Floating candles, a full feast spread across a long table, and Hogwarts acceptance letters plunging out of a fireplace are just the start of the details we thought would enhance this experience. At the very end you will see our bride and groom take off to their honeymoon via, what other than, a Portkey. This portkey will transport them in time to their next magical destination. Take a journey with us into the Forbidden Forest and see for yourself a wonderful and very inspired shoot taken from one of the biggest series of all time.

‘Til Death Do Us Part: a Wedding in a Cemetery

In honor of Halloween, we’re sharing an eerie sort of editorial today… Marrying exquisite beauty with a morbid + morose reminder, this ’Til Death Do Us Part styled shoot is other worldly. Designer + planner Vanessa Michelle Co. wanted to explore the polar opposites of life and death, highlighting the fact that you can’t have one without the other. To set the scene, she and her team of creatives headed to Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, California.

Vanessa shares Tones of black, textures of velvet, ravens, ghost chairs, lace, and vintage silver served as our main pieces. Adorning all of it with a gauzy material truly brought this styled shoot to life. After I got this idea in my head, I couldn’t shake it – all I could envision was a gorgeous black wedding gown whisking across headstones… Photographer Lorely Meza totally captured that vision!

We’re *dying* to see these photos… Let’s take a look, shall we?
